Functional Medicine University has just concluded ten days of FREE Functional Medicine Seminars. The seminars attracted more than 1800 attendees from around the world to call in to learn more about Functional Diagnostic Medicine.

Topics discussed included everything from The Adrenal Stress Test by Joel Yaffa MD of Diagnos-Techs to Amino Acid & Organic Profile by Dr. Richard S. Lord of Metametrix Clinical Laboratory.

“This past teleseminar series at Functional Medicine Experts has been an outstanding success” says Dr. Dicken Weatherby president of FMU. “Our goal is to create a win-win-win opportunity with our Functional Medicine Experts Seminars. The Experts get to be experts with those who truly appreciate what they have to say. The audience gets free and front row exposure to cutting edge information and Functional Medicine University pulls it all together with online education and training! We want our students and perspective students excited about learning Functional Medicine. Especially learning it online in our state-of-the-art learning center. The benefits are enormous from being able to work at your own pace to saving money on travel and lodging to getting to be part of a growing community of Functional Medicine Practitioners.”

Not only were seminar attendees treated to more than 10 hours of FREE lectures, but they also gained access to all ten teleseminar mp3 downloads.”In addition we created what we are calling the Functional Medicine Giveaway. A Functional Medicine Prize Package worth nearly $5400. We got off our sponsors to give valuable prizes and then awarded these to seminar attendees on the live calls.

Functional Medicine University provides online training to practitioners around the world. Both Dr. Grisanti and Dr. Weatherby are passionate about educating practitioners in the field of Functional Diagnostic Medicine!

FDM - Chiropractic Scope of Practice

Filed under: Special Report — admin @ 3:01 pm

We have a lot of Chiropractic Physicians express interest in our Functional Diagnostic Medicine Training Program. Many of them have no clue whether or not they are able to practice FDM, so we thought we’d help them out by compiling information on the chiropractic scope of practices for various states.

We are constantly surprised how many Chiropractic Physicians are unaware of the scope of their own license. Many of them do not know what they can legally do within their state, especially when you consider that chiropractic education includes education on physical examinations, blood tests and other more advanced lab testing .

It saddens and disappoints us when a chiropractor ask us ” can I really do what you teach?”

We would love to say a resounding “YES!”, but in order to easy their concerns we decided to do some work and gather this important information for each State’s scope of practice.

This is an important resource, so please go ahead and click the link below to get access to the excel document we prepared:

Take care..

Ron and Dicken

P.S. We are still waiting for more confirmation e-mails from the rest of the states. Again, if you have a question let us know

Functional Medicine Testing & Candida

Filed under: Candidiasis — Dr. Ron Grisanti @ 7:17 pm

Question:
Dr. Grisanti, I have a patient who is convinced she is suffering with Invasive Candidiasis. Do you recommend any objective tests to document the existence of an invasive candida infection?

My Reply:
I personally order a blood test that uses immunological techniques to identify IgG, IgA and IgM antibodies to Candida.

Remember candida is considered to be an opportunistic organism. While it is often harmless in small numbers in the gut, candida can quickly exploit the protective mucosal barrier and invade circulation leading to an antigen-antibody reaction. Unless a doctor uses an objective means of qualifying the existence of invasive candida, the best he/she can hope for is a “good guess”. Of course that is not in the best interest of your patients.

Objective testing for candida not only helps in confirming your diagnosis for candidiasis, but it offers doctors the opportunity to establish a means of measuring the success (or failure) of a specific treatment for candida.
